Frequently Asked Questions….
How Do I Sign Up?
Click the “member sign up” button on the front page of the website. This will take you to the online sign up form to establish yourself in the electronic medical record, sign consents, and set up a payment method. You will need your insurance card and payment method (bank or credit card). Once we receive that information you will receive information about the member only phone line and scheduling!
What do you mean by concierge-style or a direct care practice?
Administration and insurance has gotten in between patients and their doctors and neither of us like it! It makes it harder to get the care you deserve and impacts quality.
Concierge care is typically a high additional charge that is out of reach for most families.
Direct primary care does not take insurance and only operates with a membership fee
Dr. Lehman wants to be accessible while providing more direct care and allowing you to use your existing health insurance. It is a delicate balance and a work in progress to make this work for everyone involved!
Do you take insurance?
It is unfortunate that insurance has gotten to be so tricky and as a solo provider I am not going to be contracted with most insurance companies so I will be considered “out of network”. You will pay
LehmanMD directly for each individual visit (above and beyond the membership fee) and we will submit a bill on your behalf through reimbursify to apply to your out of network deductible and possibly recover some of the payment. For more information on how this works please see the “How It Works” page!
I am in network for Ohio State Health Plan only and will bill with them directly.
How much is the membership?
All primary care patients will pay a membership fee.
$25/person or $50/family (2 adults in same household, in college or under 21)
There are limited scholarships available for those who need financial assistance. Please reach out at hello@lehman.md to receive more information about this program.
Can I use my HSA/FSA?
You should be able to use your spending accounts for any visit, medical, or lab charges. Unfortunately most HSA/FSA will not allow the membership fees to be covered. Please check with your plan for specifics.
Will you use MyChart or another electronic medical record or portal?
Dr. Lehman has access to many local hospital medical records through Care Everywhere/Epic and uses an
electronic medical record. There is not a true patient portal currently but the vendor is working on one! You can email, call, or text for any more acute or urgent issues!
How do I cancel my membership? Is there a minimum contract?
Billing is done monthly or annually (small discount for annual payments) and renews on the date of the month you started. You will receive a notification 3 days prior to the renewal date and can cancel in writing any time prior to that date. There will be no refunds for partial months.
A re-enrollment fee may be charged if you cancel and rejoin.
Will you provide vaccines? What is your stance on routine vaccinations?
Dr. Lehman recommends the vaccine schedule put forth by the CDC and has vaccinated her own children according to that schedule! We will have vaccines available at the office and these will be billed through your insurance.

Can I use my insurance for labs, specialists, and medications?
Of course! I will happily work with you to have lab orders sent where your insurance covers, referrals to your preferred specialist, and your insurance will still work for all these things no matter who refers you! Ultimately you will be responsible for keeping up with those details but if anything this model allows you to get the best care without any administrative restrictions from me.
If I have OSUHP do I still pay a membership fee?
Yes, the membership fee covers the extras like having Dr. Lehman on call 24/7 for you, easy access to appointments, telephone check ins, form completion, and many many other little benefits to be revealed!
What happens if Dr. Lehman is out of town, sick, or on vacation?
With this model, the billing for each call, video, or visit is less important so if we can take care of an issue with a text or quick video then we will do it that way! It is always easier to manage concerns when I know you so well.
I am not promising a response within 10 minutes and even if I am out of the office or out of town I anticipate being able to manage your concerns efficiently. If I am truly unavailable (like no cell service) then I will have another physician covering for me. There is always the Emergency Room or Urgent Care if it cannot wait.
